The almost 7 years away from my sunny home country have transformed into another person: a mad sun worshipper. On the hottest day of the year I sat on this bench to have lunch in the middle of my cycling route to work (that day I went to work for the afternoon and evening). I sat in the scorching sun without any sun cream on my feta-white veiny skin, eating an egg salad and wineleaves-stuffed-with rice from tiny plastic boxes and a 20c mini bread which I had bought at a local market on my way. Totally unbulgarian. The photo doesn’t quite show the beautiful contrast between the bright greenyellow bench and the crimson poppy flowers. Squint and imagine it.
